Marketing Cloud: Adobe

PROBLEM:

No single application existed that was powerful enough to manage all the tasks involved in a marketer's daily life. Historically, marketing professionals were forced to manually crunch numbers and manage a multitude of disparate spreadsheets and sources in order to perform their daily work. Forecasting and prediction was a chore, but tracking the performance of their own ads and campaigns was also troublesome.

SOLUTION:

Our team concepted around a cloud offering for marketers to not only monitor their own campaign performance, but also to stay tapped into micro and macro trends.. including social buzz, analogous company performance, and more.

MY ROLE:

Senior designer on a team of three including another senior designer and manager. Worked directly with CTO to develop original concepts and design around first iteration of the product. Worked on demo build with prototypers.

Process began with in-depth research into all the various levels of roles in marketing; including CMOs, analysts, and lower level marketing roles.

After exploring a number of personas and distilling all the various tasks that marketers complete in a day, we determined our opportunity lay in mid-level marketers who managed a number of campaigns, data, and analytics. This role encountered the most pain points in their existing workflow. It was clear an Adobe cloud solution could be very appealing for them.

Based on our research and persona's workflows, we could now start to explore high level application architecture.
